Poppyseed Coleslaw

I realize coleslaw is something pretty silly to be passionate about, I’m pretty passionate about this Coleslaw! It’s not originally mine, my Mom and her dear friend would make it for events after church on a regular basis and so I had plenty of the leftovers throughout my time. But it needs to be shared, because it’s time that regular coleslaw got an upgrade. In fact, I have a hard time eating any other type after this one!

This coleslaw comes together quickly (note the FIVE minute prep time on the recipe down below), and is totally customizable! The only thing that is a non-negotiable though is the dressing. If you try to use any other brand besides the Brianna’s or Kroger, it will NOT be the same! Not even close to the max amount of deliciousness it could be! It sounds dramatic, but I’m serious. ;)

If you try this out, let me know by commenting on this post, or tagging me @theflouredcountertop. Don’t forget to follow along on that page if you’re not already, and also under the same name on Pinterest.

Prep time: 5 MinTotal time: 5 Min

Ingredients

Coleslaw Fixings*
  • 16oz bag Coleslaw mix
  • 2/3 cup Kroger or Brianna's Poppyseed Dressing**
  • 2/3 cup Chow mein Crunchy Noodles
  • 8 sliced Green onions
  • 2/3 cup Sliced, Toasted Almonds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the 16oz bag Coleslaw mix, the 2/3 cup Kroger or Brianna's Poppyseed Dressing, 2/3 cup Chow mein Crunchy Noodles, 8 sliced Green Onions, and the optional 2/3 cup Toasted Almonds. If making ahead of time, wait until right before serving it to add the Chow Mein noodles to avoid them getting soggy.

Notes:

*All of these measurements are completely customizable! The measurements are only there for a guide. Feel free to add or take away as much or as little as you'd prefer.

**I would strongly recommend sticking to only these two brands of Poppyseed dressing! It really does make all the difference.
